Brief Bio

Giovanna Magnani is Post-Doc Research Fellow at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Pavia.

She has been visiting PhD candidate at the University of Queensland (Australia) and is visiting post doc fellow at Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge). She is Adjunct Professor of “Doing Business in – International Management and Entrepreneurship” course in the Master of International Business and Entrepreneurship, and lecturer of Advanced Marketing at the Master in Marketing Utilities and Storytelling Techniques (M.U.S.T). She has been teaching assistant of the Marketing course since 2012 and tutor for the national annual marketing competition founded by Società italiana di Marketing.

She has been research collaborator for conducting highly qualified research within the PRIN (Research Projects of National Interest, funded by MIUR, Ministry of Italian Education) 2010 project. Her research is currently focusing on the dynamics of global value chains, their determinants and performance implications for firms. She is interested in the internationalisation strategy of small and medium sized firms and their uncertainty-coping strategic mechanisms. She is engaging in a side project about the car sharing phenomenon from a consumer behaviour perspective.

She is co-author of International Entrepreneurship. Theoretical Foundation and Practices, Second Edition. Giovanna supervises the teaching activities of the DAEM PhD program and is lecturer in the Qualitative Methods module.
